Extension and Evaluation of the RSVP version 2 Protocol in Infra-Structured Mobile Networks

چکیده
In order to optimize the operation of the RSVPv2 protocol in mobile infra-structured networks this paper proposes a set of extensions. The proposed extensions are: employment of the reservation message to quickly create reservation states after a handoff is performed; utilization of teardown message in order to explicitly remove the reservation states from the old path; extension of the mobile IP message in order to carry reservation acknowledgement information. The Network Simulator NS was employed to evaluate the RSVPv2 protocol and the suggested extensions. Simulation analysis have shown that the utilization of the proposed extensions is able to efficiently manage the reservation states in different mobile networks scenarios.

An Energy Efficient Clustering Method using Bat Algorithm and Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of sensor nodes with limited energy. Energy efficiency is an important issue in WSNs as the sensor nodes are deployed in rugged and non-care areas and consume a lot of energy to send data to the central station or sink if they want to communicate directly with the sink. Recently, the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol is employed as a low-power, low-cost, and low rat...

In recent years, mobile ad-hoc networks have been used widely due to advances in wireless technology. These networks are formed in any environment that is needed without a fixed infrastructure or centralized management. Mobile ad-hoc networks have some characteristics and advantages such as wireless medium access, multi-hop routing, low cost development, dynamic topology and etc. In these netwo...
متن کاملOn-Board RSVP: An Extension of RSVP to Support Real-Time Services in On-Board IP Networks
The extension of Internet services to public transport passengers is slowly becoming inevitable. To this end, it is envisaged that high-speed local area networks will be deployed on-board public transport vehicles (e.g., buses, trains, ships and planes). The on-board LAN will be connected to the Internet via an on-board mobile router (MR). The passengers simply connect their devices to the on-b...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
